Welcome to VirtualEvals

Please note: VirtualEvals is a service to health professions advisors at undergraduate institutions and post bac programs. We do not work with individual applicants or individual evaluators–only with advisors. All letters posted to VirtualEvals must be posted by the advising office at a participating school or program. Good luck to you with your application!

Health Professions Advisors:  VirtualEvals 2009 is active.

Before logging into VE, please review the Instructions for Logging into VE (see link the Site Menu on this page). If you had a VE login and password last year, they will work again this year; however you should review the login instructions. Those instructions also show you how to create an account on VE if you didn’t have one last year.

Depending on your role, please review the Instructions for Sending Schools or Instructions for Receiving Schools (see links in the Site Menu on this page). The instructions are designed to help new users and also those who used VE last year.

Please remember that VE uses popups. So if you have a popup blocker, make sure to enable popups from VE. If you have a problem logging in, it might be related to popups.

These three instruction links are password protected. If you are on our email lists, you or others in your office should have received an email from Kay Singer June 9 giving you the password. It is a generic password for all–NOT your VE password. If you did not receive the email please check your spam folder to make sure it didn’t end up there. If you don’t have it, email help@virtualevals.org.

We look forward to working with you again this year and we welcome new VE users!

****************

Please remember that Sending Schools must register to use VE.

Registering your institution is a two-step process which should be done by one person at your institution.

  1. Go to the link in the Site Menu “Agreement to Participate in VirtualEvals for the 2009 Application Cycle” to complete a short form that will provide us with current contact information and your intent to pay the $100 annual access fee by credit card or check.
  2. Start the process of paying your VE fees for 2009 by using this link: VE Billing for 2009. This is the link that under the Site Menu is listed as VirtualEvals Billing 2009. (If you are an applicant, please note that VE does not work directly with applicants. We work only with prehealth advisors at NAAHP member institutions.)

If you have not used VE in the past but are interested, please send an email to help@virtualevals.org and we will add you to our email list. Sending schools will also want to make sure your membership in NAAHP is current since use of VE is restricted to members of NAAHP. For information see http://www.naahp.org. The expiration date of your membership is printed on the mailing label that was on the NAAHP directory you received this spring and also on the mailing label for your copy of The Advisor.

As many of you are aware, AMCAS is introducing a pilot program to provide letters of evaluation to medical schools. We want to assure you that we are working with AMCAS so that those of you who use VE can continue to use our service with little to no additional work on your part. You will continue to post all of your letters in PDF format to VE. AMCAS will download letters from VE for applicants to those schools that are participating in the pilot and transmit them electronically to those schools. For details, see the link at the right under the Participants section.

Best wishes,

Kay and Saeed, VirtualEvals
Susan, NAAHP
